The principles of the holistic health approach of Ayurveda are universal and everyone who cares for a healthy and happy life can make use of its holistic system. Ayurveda considers a human being as a spiritual soul and therefore it want to re-establish harmony between all of its parts. The Ayurvedic tools to realize this and to avoid sickness are completely natural and almost inexhaustible. The difference between Ayurveda and modern health trends is that the Ayurvedic health approach is understood as a natural and logic result of a spiritual lifestyle. Different means of purification are daily used in Ayurveda, but they serve a higher target. That higher purpose is to balance life by taking care of the optimal functioning of body, mind and environment and to develop higher states of consciousnes.
This Academic Study Program on the holistic health approach and applications of Ayurveda is composed for medical students, health practitioners and therapists who wish to broaden and deepen their understanding of Ayurveda, which is an utmost part of Vedic Science.
In this intensive studyprogram we deal with Ayurveda, one of the most important Vedic studies and applications. We learn that Ayurveda is based on the teachings necessary to comprehend existence, creation and human evolution.
In this study year we look into the deep significance of Ayurveda and we also study its applications in daily life. It is full of practical knowledge and all parts, which are complete in themselves, are intimately connected to each other. During the study the student is invited to work for a certain period as a practitioner in an Ayurvedic Centre to get experience with different purification treatments.
This study program consists of 12 modules, whereby each module is again subdivided into study units. The successful completion of each module gives the student a certain number of study points.
The program has been individualized (enabling one to be flexible in time and intensity) and is an on-line course which has been formulated by the Dutch University College/DUC Educational Centre and allows one to study at home.
The study can be done part-time and encompasses a 1- 1 1/2 year period: 12 modules x 75 sbu = 900 sbu + thesis x 120 sbu = 1020 sbu = 36,43 ECTS points. (European Credit Transfer System).
Besides this a practicum at an Ayurvedic Centre for a minimum period of 1 week is required.
Depending on the time available for study, a shortening or lengthening of the study tempo is possible.
Following the successful completion of this study a DUC-diploma Master Consultant Ayurveda Holistic Health Care will be granted (conform Master CAHHC).
